New Hampshire Public Records

As with many States, New Hampshire State has various locations where you can obtain records. You will need to decide what you are looking for so that you can look in the appropriate place. Some sites offer you the opportunity to obtain records directly from the website by completing a form and paying a fee with your credit card.

Birth and Death Certificates

The Div. of Vital Records Administration allows you to obtain certified copies of vital records including a birth certificate, a death certificate, a marriage certificate or divorce record by completing their online application for a certificate.

You are required to fill out an application form and provide the required fee and a copy of your photo ID, and then send it in the mail to:

Driving Record Information

A driving record can be obtained by accessing the NH Dept. Safety Motor Vehicle Division website. Once there you will be required to fil out the Record Release Form in full and provide all of the requested information. This form must be signed (in front of a Notary) dated and mailed in with a $15.00 payment to

You can ask to have your report released to another individual or entity by adding the information where the record should be sent on the required form.

Court Records

The New Hampshire Judicial Branch provides certain information such as court records and certain documents as requested by the media and by the public through their site. You can view information regarding the cases that are listed on the site and get more information regarding them by following the links through to the posted case. Each case has a list of documents that you can click on and view if they are publicly accessible. These documents are all provided in PDF format which means the document is scanned in and readable through Adobe. If you are searching for records that are not listed on the site, you can get in touch with individual courts by finding the one you need through this link.

Property Records

Each county has its own website. If you are searching for information regarding a property you will need to access the correct county website where the property is located. This site provides the list of counties and their respective websites.

Sex Offender Registry

The Registration of Criminal Offenders, a Division of State Police provides information about registered criminals in your local area. You need to provide certain information in order to receive information regarding a certain person. You have to enter their name, address and the local county into the spaces provided and you are provided with identifying information regarding the offense for which the sex offender is registered. It does not provide a full criminal history or any out of state criminal history information.
